The Children's System of Care Committee (CSOC) works with CMHDA's governing board, regional committees, and other standing committees to identify and develop CMHDA's positions on federal, state, and local statutory and regulatory developments that directly or indirectly impact Children's System of Care policy development.

The Committee has created several goals for itself for 2007, and several of them are listed below. The goals for 2007 are:

• Continue involvement in advocacy for adequate funding and legislative solutions in best interest of students and counties.
• Monitor and provide input on all child-related legislation.
• Track the progress of AB 3632.
• Track the progress of the Katie A lawsuit, and its implications for counties.
• TBS - Continue to clarify issues impacting compliance through input to Governing Board, DMH, and Special Master.
• Healthy Families - Continue participation in policy-level discussions with CMHDA Governing Board/Medi-Cal Policy Committee through MRMIB Advisory Committee.
• Continue work with parent and youth agencies to improve parent and youth involvement in CSOC services.
• Continue work with provider organizations to improve practice quality.
• Support continued promotion of implementation of quality practices through conferences, Rose Jenkins, CMHACY, CIMH projects, MHSA information exchange.
• Support workforce training and capacity development.
• Identification of local concerns related to child and family issues.
