The Medi-Cal Policy Committee works under the direction of the Governing Board to identify and analyze ongoing issues in managing the consolidated Medi-Cal specialty mental health system.

The Committee:

  • Provides leadership and technical assistance to counties in implementation issues for Medi-Cal consolidation, including such issues as new service categories (for example, Therapeutic Behavioral Services).
  • Monitors regulation development, litigation, and other issues on the local, state, and national level that relate to the Medicaid program.
  • Provides direct assistance to counties in the development of solutions to service needs.
  • Provides CMHDA representation to the Department of Mental Health's Quality Improvement Committee and Compliance Review Committee.
  • Provides the CMHDA Legislative Committee comment on proposed legislation which relates to the managed health care environment.
