The Financial Services Committee meets regularly with the Department of Mental Health to address administrative and fiscal issues and concerns confronting the local public mental health system.

Issues currently under review include the following:

• Cost reporting requirements, including those for new programs such as CalWORKS, Therapeutic Behavioral Services, Healthy Families, and EPSDT.
• Reporting and cost elements for licensing levels, including Skilled Nursing Facilities, Mental Health Rehabilitation Centers, and inpatient and outpatient treatment setting.
• Compliance requirements for all funding sources, including Medicaid and Medicare.
• Data and information requirements from the state, including CRDC, CSI, and expected changes related to HIPAA.
