Governing Board

The Governing Board is comprised of the elected officers, the chairs of all regional committees, the Small Counties Committee chair, the Los Angeles County Mental Health Director, and the California Institute for Mental Health Board Liaison. The chairs of standing committees are ex officio members of the Board.

The Governing Board shall act for the Full Association in between meetings, acting on the policy and direction set by the Association. It shall also review and manage all fiscal matters for the Association, and set policy based on the direction of and subject to the approval of the Association.

CMHDA's Governing Board is accountable to the Membership for:

  • Establishing an annual work plan.
  • Proposing a budget to support the work plan.
  • Assuring staff capacity to support the work plan.
  • Charging and oversight of all program/policy committees, whether standing or ad hoc.
  • Identifying emerging issues and assigning these to existing committees or creating ad hoc committees.
  • Assuring action on recommendations presented by program/policy committees by the referral of the matter to a full vote of the Membership.
  • Assuring policy implementation
